St. Andrews located in coastal Southeastern Scotland is known for its medieval ruins, golfing, scenic views and large University. At one time St. Andrews was the ecclesiastical capital of Scotland, but today its castle and cathedral are in ruins. The city is the headquarters of golf's governing body, the Royal & Ancient Golf Club and home of the world's most famous golf course, the 16th-century Old Course. A popular attraction for golfing enthusiasts is the British Golf Museum, located near the Old Course.
