Built in 1826 by Randal McGavock, this plantation was said to be one of the most elegant estates in Williamson County. During the Civil War Battle of Franklin in 1864, the plantation served as a makeshift hospital to the wounded and dying. A 1,500 grave cemetery next to the estate is said to be the largest private Confederate cemetery in the country.
