The McMinn County Living Heritage Museum opened in 1982 with nine complete rooms of exhibits containing more than 2,000 items touching on nine different aspects of development including pioneer life, agriculture, industry, medicine and law, and education. Room furnishings in the 26 permanent exhibit areas range from pioneer simplicity to Victorian splendor and include displays of decorative glass, needlework, fine art and period costumes. The museum's collection of 19th and early 20th century quilts is one of the finest in Tennessee. The main exhibits are the Annual Quilt Show, the Annual Japanese Quilt Show, and Rare Glassware of the 19th & 20th Century.
