Racoon Mountain Crystal Caverns

Raccoon Mountain Caverns is often referred to as "The South's Most Beautiful" due to the incredible variety of passageways, natural bridges, formations, fossils, and spectacular scenery. These caverns contain more formations and fossils in their natural state than any other caverns in this part of the country. Visitors can take either the 45 minute tour along a smooth path or the Wild Cave expeditions which are tours through the remote areas of an interlocking network of caves. These expeditions are regarded by many as the most challenging and rigorous cave tour in the country. Trained cavers guide guests through the vast underground network of chambers, canyons, tunnels, small streams, and large waterfalls that are beneath Raccoon Mountain. The site offers four different wild cave expeditions. Guests can choose from a two, four, or six-hour expedition, and even an overnight tour.
