East Discovery Well

Interesting history surrounds this 300-barrel/day 1927 oil well known as Daisy Bradford #3 that began as a twice-failed hard-luck venture by Columbus M. 'Dad' Joiner that kicked off the East Texas Oil Boom. Pioneer Park, with derrick-covered picnic pavilions and dedicated to 'roughnecks', is six miles W of Henderson on Hwy 64, County Road 4148; the well is a mile N.
