Fort Clark Springs

This is the site of Fort Clark, established in 1852. Notable military officers who served here include Col. Ranald S Mackenzie, Generals George C Patton and George C Marshall. The fort was deactivated in 1944. Today, Fort Clark Springs is a 2700 acre gated resort and leisure living community, bordering US Highway 90 at Brackettville, 125 miles west of San Antonio, Texas. Since 1971, the Fort Clark Springs Association has developed this peaceful, secure place to live and relax while carefully preserving a significant National Register Historic District which holds a prominent place in the history of our nation. They feature a motel, RV park, restaurant, and museum. An 18 hole golf course and a giant spring fed swimming pool are featured.
