Located in Polk County, one mile south of
Livingston, the park contains 640 acres along
Lake Livingston, an 85000-acre reservoir. It is near the ghost town of Swartwout, a steamboat landing on the Trinity River between the 1830s and 1850s and the meeting place of Polk County's commissioners court before voters selected Livingston as the county seat. The park offers camping, picnicking, swimming, biking, fishing, and boating.
