Packsaddle Mountain

An area marker of interest to historians and geologists where much of this low mountain is 600-year-old sandstone in horizontal layers, which rests on an even more ancient schist exposed in Honey Creek at the foot of the mountain off TX 71. Traces of gold, silver and other minerals in sands of creek. Site of an Apache battle in 1873.
