Is located on the campus of West Texas State A&M University east of US 87 on SR 217. The museum finished in Texas limestone and with a facade of decorative stone work and carving present the cultural, geological and economic history of northwest Texas.
Exhibits include a chuck wagon, an extensive gun collection, prehistoric fossils, southwestern art and wildlife. The five major exhibition areas are dedicated to petroleum, Western heritage, paleontology, transportation and art. Among highlights is a reconstructed pioneer town of the late 19th and early 20th centuries whose shops, houses and other buildings are filled with period artifacts. Supplementing the main exhibitions are a gallery of southwestern art and one of the Panhandle's oldest buildings, the T-Anchor Ranch headquarters.
