Bear Lake

The 112-square-mile Bear Lake is located high in the Rocky Mountains on the Utah-Idaho border. Visitors to Bear Lake come for the excellent fishing and boating opportunities. The second largest freshwater lake in the state, it is host to sailboat regattas and Jet Ski races in the summer. The Cisco Beach area is famous for midwinter fishing, as well as the excellent inland water scuba diving; the location is a favorite of divers, wooden walkways are available in an area designated for diving.

From May to October, bicyclists can take advantage of the 45-mile loop Bear Lake Bicycle Trail. The trail offers views of the lake from every angle, and interpretive signs discuss the history and geology of the lake. The loop trail begins and ends in Garden City.
