This 267-acre park encompasses the East Canyon Reservoir, and is situated in the mountains northeast of Salt Lake City. The 680-acre reservoir offers boating and year-round fishing opportunities; a wide concrete launching ramp, boat rentals, fish cleaning stations, and paved parking area are available. Park facilities include a campground with large overflow for groups, modern bathrooms and vault toilets, refreshment stand, picnic areas with group day-use pavilion, showers, and waste disposal. The park is open year-round, with limited facilities in winter.

Malad Valley Welsh Festival Malad City ID June28-July1 Today, Malad Valley has the largest per capita concentration of people of Welsh ancestry outside the country of Wales itself. For that reason, many residents of the Valley wanted to reestablish their Welsh roots. In 2005, after a 90 year break, this annual cultural event, now called the Malad Valley Welsh Festival, once again became a reality.
