Interstate 15 is one of four interstate highways to pass through Utah and the only one running north to south. It enters the state from the south near
St George and passes to the east of Dixie National Forest and west of Zion National Park, another section of Dixie N.F., Fishlake N.F. (where it intersects with
I-70 near
Cove Fort near mile post 132) and Uinta N.F. Contiuing north it passes through
Provo on the east side of Utah Lake and
Salt Lake City, where the
I-80 interchange is. It then merges with I-84 near
Ogden before splitting again near
Tremonton and exiting the state near Clarkston thus completing its 403-mile trek.
