This parkway encompasses a 4.8 mile stretch of the Jordan River and is popular for canoeing, walking, bicycles, roller blades and canoes. The parkway runs adjacent to Redwood Road on the west side of Salt Lake City from North Temple Street to 2200 North and the Davis County Line.

For that reason, many residents of the Valley wanted to reestablish their Welsh roots. In 2005, after a 90 year break, this annual cultural event, now called the Malad Valley Welsh Festival, once again became a reality.
