Poison Spider Bicycles began in 1988 when Chuck and Judy Nichols moved their tour company, Nichols Expeditions to Moab, Utah. As their bike tour business grew, the popularity of mountain biking in the Moab area exploded. In 1991 they opened a bike shop and adopted the name of a popular local ride, Poison Spider Mesa.
