Two recent volcanic cones can be found at the head of the canyon, which is located 11 miles northwest of St George on Hwy 18. Visitors to the 5,738-acre park will enjoy hiking, biking and camping in addition to the excellent photographic opportunities. Park amenities include a 35-site campground, modern bathrooms, hot showers, electric hookups, sewage disposal station, and a covered group-use pavilion. The park is open all year, with spring and fall seasons especially nice due to Utah's mild winter climate. Reservations for the campground are also accepted year-round.
