Chincoteague is a charming island with a yearly town carnival which features a pony swim, as well as a beach and wildlife refuge just a few minutes away. Many festivals are held each year such as the Seafood Festival, Oyster Festival, and others. It is just a few hours away from metropolitan areas such as Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Hampton, Richmond, Washington DC, Baltimore, Annapolis, and Wilmington.
