Daura Gallery

The art gallery at Lynchburg College, in the Dillard Fine Arts Center, was established in 1974 and dedicated in 1990 as the Daura Gallery, in memory of Pierre Daura and Louise Blair Daura. The collection of works by the Catalan-American artist Pierre Daura, Louise Blair Daura and many other American and Virginia artists now includes more than 1,000 paintings, sculptures and works on paper. In addition, the gallery houses more than 3,000 works from the collection of Martha Daura. The Daura Gallery presents changing exhibitions drawn from the collection and from public and private sources. Staff or docent-led tours are available by appointment two weeks in advance. Works of art and the Daura Archives are available to qualified scholars by appointment. Lectures and gallery talks are scheduled regularly. Open Monday-Sunday, or by appointment; admission is free. Closed during College recess.
