The park features 18.1 miles of trails that allow the experience of the history of the Occoneechee Indians and plantation life in the 1800s.

Facilities include campsites, picnic areas with shelters, an amphitheater and boat launching ramps.

The visitor center has displays designated by the Virginia Museum of Natural History to introduce visitors to Native American culture and the indegenous Occoneechee people.
