This was the home of one
Lynchburg's most prominent citizens, Dr George Cabell Sr, physician and friend to Patrick Henry. The distinctive octagon-bay facade of the 1815 house overlooks the
James River. The dwelling's interior woodwork, furnishings and other appointments have been restored to their Federal period appearance. Re-created kitchen and stable buildings provide glimpses into early 19th-century lifestyles. Guided tours of the house and gardens are given daily 10am-4pm; closed major holidays.
