Located in the heart of Richmond, the Anderson Gallery is an important educational and cultural resource for the local, national and international community. The gallery is the Museum of the Arts of Virginia Commonwealth University and is a part of the School of the Arts of VCU. With over 2,000 students and 135 full-time faculties, the School of the Arts is one of the largest art schools in the United States. Since 1971, the gallery has become one of the most important venues for contemporary art in the Southeast. In addition to presenting important exhibitions, publications and lecture series, the gallery is known for its extensive permanent collection.
