This inn opened in 1993 and offers a choice of nine rooms and two 2-bedroom suites. Situated along the Mad River, it was built on the site of the famed "Pitcher Inn," dating to the 1700s.
All rooms contain a private bath, hidden TV and VCR, stereo system, telephone, computer and fax hook-up. Most rooms have wood-burning fireplaces, Jacuzzis and steam showers.
The Inn serves breakfast and dinner. The menus offer seasonally inspired, contemporary American cuisine, utilizing organic, locally grown foods. Afternoon tea is served daily in the Robert Frost Library.
The inn's wine cellar boasts 6,500 bottles. The gift shop offers a variety of Vermont memorabilia. There also is a game room with an 18th century billiards table and shuffleboard table, a large selection of videos and the library collection.
A locker room with ski and hiking storage is provided for all guests. Outdoor activities, such as hiking, golf packages and ski packages can be arranged at the inn.
