This hilltop inn is located at the end of a country road, about two miles from the village of Grafton. Surrounded by 200 bucolic acres is a fully restored, 1790 colonial farmhouse -- one of Grafton's oldest dwellings -- furnished in antiques with accommodations for 28 guests in a main house, cottage and barn. Public areas include an open porch, lounge and dining room. A classic American breakfast is served to guests staying in the main house. Behind the barn is a large pond surrounded by rolling grass, ideal for sunning with a platform dock in the swimming area and a gazebo for reading or quiet contemplation. Hidden in pine trees is a wood-fired sauna. Historic Grafton Village offers miles of groomed trails for walking, hiking or mountain biking, tennis courts and bike rentals. During the winter, sledding, ice skating, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are available.
