Cosmopolis is a small community on the south bank of the Chehalis River, a few miles SE of Aberdeen on Highway 101. The name means "city of the world." This was the site of the 1855 Indian Treaty meeting with Territorial Governor Stevens. The town was incorporated in 1891.
