Graves Mountain Lookout
|

|
The Graves Mountain Lookout, now located on the hill east of the Keller Heritage Center, was constructed during the early 1930's in the Colville National Forest. It actively functioned as a lookout station for almost 50 years atop Graves Mountain between Colville and Republic. In 1984, the lookout was given by the USFS to the Stevens County Historical Society, which moved it to its present location in Stevens County Park overlooking the town of Colville. Once in place, the lookout was equipped with authentic furnishings and is open to those who wish to experience a bygone era of forest fire detection without climbing a 6,000 foot mountain to do so.
