La Conner
|---|
La Conner's docks, bait shops, galleries and museums embody the classic sights and sounds of a late 19th-century fishing port. Many historic buildings remain intact, including a log cabin built in 1869 by Magnus Anderson, one of the area's first settlers. More than 160 local buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. La Conner is in western Skagit County, facing Fidalgo Island across Swinomish Channel. The area surrounding La Conner is rich in tulips, thus the town has an annual Tulip Festival, held each April.
