The Blue Mound State Park consists of 1,124 acres off US 18/151, near the town of
Blue Mounds. The 1,716-foot Blue Mound is the highest point in Southern Wisconsin. According to legend, Winnebago treasure is buried in the mound. The site offers views of the Baraboo Range, and Wisconsin River Valley, as well as 78 campsites, it is open year round, miles of hiking, biking and cross country skiing trails, a heated swimming pool from Memorial Day to Labor Day, and is open daily.
