Located along the beautiful Wisconsin River a short distance northwest of Merrill, the Council Grounds State Park offers 509 acres of camping, swimming, fishing, water skiing, canoeing, boating, cross-country skiing, hiking, fitness trail, and nature study. The park includes 9 miles of hiking trails, 3 miles of mountain bike trails, and 5 miles of cross country ski trails.
