Kaukauna is located in Outagamie County north of Lake Winnebago between Appleton and Green Bay along US Highway 41 on the banks of the Fox River near Kimberly. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 12,150, an increase of 168 since 1990. Kaukauna is part of the Appleton-Oshkosh-Neenah, Wisconsin metro area.
