Located near Delafield, 1 mile south of I-94, the Kettle Moraine and Lapham Peak were formed 10,000 years ago when a glacier covered much of Wisconsin. More than 1,000 acres of hilly terrain reside within the Lapham Peak boundaries. Lapham Peak has a variety of sights and activities to offer including a 5-foot observation tower on the highest point in Waukesha County. Extensive trails route through Lapham Peak including 21.2 miles of hiking trails, 17.2 miles of cross-country ski trails, and 5 miles of mountain bike trails.
The unit also offers several prairie restoration sites, a butterfly garden and picnic areas with reservable shelters.
