Located across Cardigan Bay in Cardigan is St. Dogmael's, a house that was sacked by Norsemen and later claimed by the Normans. It was then turned into an annex of France's Abbey of Tiron. The church contains the ancient Sagranus Stone, whose inscriptions in Latin and Old Gaelic served as a key to the language of the tribes of the Dark Ages.
