Harman is located in
Randolph County (
Eastern Region), which is within the Alleghaney Mountain Range where it can be reached using Hwy 33.
Elkins is west of Harman where the
Spruce Knob Lake Campground National Recreation Area is nearby.
The city was named for the Rev. Asa Harman, who donated land for the town site.
