Henry Clay Iron Furnace |
A 30-foot pyramidal stone structure (c. 1834) is all that remains of the state's smelting industry. The furnace was in operation during the 1830's and '40's, and the road was used by lumbermen in the 1920's. Located within Coopers Rock State Forest. A one-mile hike to reach the furnace. Open daily 8am-dusk; free to the public. Located in Cooper's Rock State Forest.
