Jackson's Mill Historic Area |
The boyhood home of General Thomas J. 'Stonewall' Jackson has many historic buildings. Among them are: originally built in Roanoke, West Virginia, Mary Conrad's cabin has joined the other 19th century buildings at Jackson's Mill as a Visitor Center/ Gift Shop. Here at the General Store, you may purchase heritage crafts, Civil War items and freshly ground meal and flour. Also, the livelihood of the Jackson family, the gristmill now houses artifacts relating to agriculture, milling and homesteads of the 19th century in West Virginia. Open Memorial Day to Labor Day, 10am-5pm.
