General Alfred Beckley House

Alfred Beckley, a general in the Civil War, served as the first clerk of the Circuit Court of the county. Wildwood House, his 1836 log home, is now a museum furnished in period which preserves his many contributions to Raleigh County. The town of Beckley was a commerce center during the high water of coal production at the turn of the century. It still is as county seat for Raleigh County. Open weekends in season.
