Founded in 1867, this is a comprehensive public land-grant research university offering more than 100 undergraduate degrees in liberal arts and sciences, health science, and professional training. There are 13 undergraduate and 14 graduate schools. The 541 acre campus is in a small town 75 miles south of Pittsburgh and 200 miles west of Baltimore. Including residence halls, there are 136 buildings, some of them historic.
