Carbon County Library System

Carbon County Library System, serving an area of 15,400 residents, has a collection of 90,247 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 2871 audio materials, as well as 3573 videos items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes. Internet terminals are available for use by the general public.

Staffing consists of 19 employees (5 full time/ 14 part time). The system comprises one central library and 7 branch libraries. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $66,453. Patrons make 44,781 visits annually, and check out materials 93,534 times. Thirty-four percent of all check-outs are children's materials.
