Star Valley is also known as the "Little Switzerland of America". It is located south of
Jackson Hole. Star Valley is dotted with farms and a mountainous topography.
Dairy is the principal way of life and has been for over a century. Family farm herds provide dairy products for families in the area. The demand for products became so great that a creamery was established in 1889. Star Valley produces the bulk of the state's dairy products.
Star Valley is surrounded by rich land, which assures that it is a great place to cultivate dairy products. Three national forests surround Star Valley, Bridger-Teton National Forest, Caribou National Forest, and Targhee National Forest of Idaho.
