Yukon is a vast territory in the northwest of Canada, north of British Columbia and east of Alaska. It became famous during the Klondike Golf Rush of 1898 and mining remains a mainstay of the economy. It covers more than 200,000 square miles. Whitehorse is the territorial capital.
