Greenland is located in Rockingham County on N.H. 33 between Stratham and Interstate 95. Greenland is part of the Portsmouth-Rochester metro area.
One of the earliest settlements in the state, Greenland was part of the parish of Portsmouth originating in 1638. In 1704, residents requested and were granted a separate town. During that same period, what is thought to be the oldest brick house still standing in New Hampshire was constructed by Leonard Weeks.
Accommodations in Greenland include the Captain Folsom Inn and Ayers Homestead Inn.
