Construction of the Tower commenced on February 19, 1967 and was completed in June 1968. The Calgary Tower is the fourth tallest structure in the city, and an observation deck and revolving restaurant provide views of the city and the Rocky Mountains. In January and February of 1996, renovations were done to the Elevation area at the base of the Tower.
