Established in 1881 by Quebec businessman, Senator M.H. Cochrane, the Cochrane Ranche was the first of the big leasehold ranches in the Canadian West. It was the foundation of the beef cattle industry in Alberta. Cochrane Ranche offers interpretive programs and events, walking trails, picnic grounds and a visitor.
