The Alaska Biological Science Center is part of the Biological Resources Division of the U.S. Geological Survey, and plays a pivitol role in conducting research on wildlife and their habitats in Alaska. The center provides scientific information on essential resource management decisions.
Nearly 88% of all National Wildlife Refuges and 65% of all National Parks & Monuments are within Alaska. The Alaska Biological Science Center is the lead biological science agency for the Department of the Interior in Alaska, and is responsible for trust lands and water, as well as trust species.
