Cordova Public Library, serving an area of 2,500 residents, has a collection of 21,000 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 960 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, as well as 1,260 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes. Internet terminals are available for use by the general public. Staffing consists of 3 employees, including one fully accredited librarian, plus volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $12,000. Patrons make 17,600 visits annually, and check out materials 29,000 times. Twenty-eight percent of all check-outs are children's materials.

06/13 Coming to The Cordova area Copper River Delta Shorebird Festival Cordova AK May2-5 The Copper River Delta Shorebird Festival is held annually in beautiful Cordova, Alaska. Each spring, as many as five million shorebirds rest and feed at the tidal flats of the Copper River Delta during spring migration. The Copper River Delta Shorebird Festival provides the opportunity for bird watchers to be part of this incredible migration. The festival includes many activities, workshops, and community events.
