On the Coosa River, Clanton is in the
Chilton County (
Central Region) area between
Birmingham and
Montgomery.
Some of the land marks in the area are a peach-shaped water tower and the fruit market that has been around for as long as the city. This peach-shaped water tower is the holding area for most of the town.
There are many places for visitors to stay including Days Inn, Key West Inn, and Shoneys Inn.
