Baptist Walker is a 267-bed acute care facility serving Northwest Alabama. Located in
Jasper, the hospital was opened in 1980 and gained the reputation as being the first all-private room hospital in the state.
Baptist Walker boasts the latest in diagnostic technology including MRI, CT, Cardiac Catherization and Nuclear Medicine imaging. Other services include a WomenFirst Center, One Day Surgery, Cardiopulmonary Rehab, a Sleep Disorders Center and one of Alabama's busiest emergency departments, averaging more than 35,000 patient visits a year.
The 85-member medical staff represents over 25 different medical specialities and is supported by a highly skilled medical team of nurses, technicians and other caregivers. Baptist Walker employs 700 people, making it one of the largest employers in Walker County.
