This two-room log cabin is the oldest dwelling in Tallassee and still stands on its original location. Built between 1840 and 1845, the structure features big stone chimneys and a "dog trot" hallway. This log cabin served as a site for the area's center of education for many years before formal schools were established. The house was renovated by the Carrville Historical Society, Inc. in the mid-1970s.
