Horseshoe Bend is located in Izard County east of Mountain Home, between Ash Flat and Calico Rock at the Hwy 354 and Hwy 289 junction, near the Strawberry River.Two brothers from Arkansas stood on the highest point of the nearly five thousand acres they owned in the Ozark Mountains. Far in the distance, the Strawberry River entered from the west and coursed its way through this land like a great horseshoe. And, so it came into being, Horseshoe Bend. Enjoy fishing, sailing, boating or swimming in various beautiful lakes and rivers. There are two great golf courses in Horseshoe and three more nearby, also tennis and many other outdoor recreational activities, including hunting.
