This is an outstanding liberal arts college founded by the Presbyterian Church in 1872. The college offers degree programs in fine arts, humanities, language & literature, business & economics, social sciences, natural sciences & mathematics, and special programs in pre-professional curricula are also offered. One of the college's outstanding features is its Scottish Heritage Program, in which students can minor in traditional Scottish music and arts, including dance. This unique program has produced many national award winners and teachers.
The 130-acre hilltop campus of Lyon College is located in the historic town of Batesville, just 90 miles from Little Rock and 110 miles from Memphis. Access to the campus is via Hwy 167 & Hwy 69.
