Bates Medical Center is a 63-bed acute-care facility with an intensive care/coronary unit, a CT scanner, a coronary catheterization lab, a nuclear medicine center, ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging. The Family BirthPlace has private rooms where labor, delivery and recovery can take place without moving the patient. Bates is currently at 602 N. Walton Blvd. (U.S. Highway 71). However, Northwest Health System has purchased more than 60 acres in Bentonville where a new hospital at 2003 E. Walton Blvd. will be built to replace the current Bates Medical Center.
