The Navajo Health Foundation - Sage Memorial Hospital is a Private, Non-Profit, Independent 41-bed Healthcare organization fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization. They provide adult medicine, pediatrics, uncomplicated obstetrics, general and podiatric surgery and emergency services. Since its inception in 1901, Sage Memorial Hospital has served as a teaching institution providing medical services in an underserved area. One of its notable teachers was Dr. Clarence Salisbury who founded the first Native American Nursing School Program.
